Discover the Tour
The tour begins at the meeting point, where we will gather all our excursionists. At 6:00 AM, we will depart to start our fabulous excursion to Washington from New York. Once we begin the journey, we will cross the Hudson River and travel 380 kilometers south, passing through the state of New Jersey—the birthplace of Frank Sinatra and other famous singers like Bon Jovi and the "Father of Salsa," Frankie Ruiz.
Halfway through the trip, around 8:30 AM, we will arrive in the state of Delaware, where we will make our first 30-minute stop for breakfast (food and beverages are not included in the excursion). Here, our travelers can purchase food and drinks for the journey if they wish.
Delaware is known as The First State since, after the War of Independence, it was the first state to recognize the U.S. Constitution in 1787.
We will continue our journey through part of the state of Maryland and its most important city, Baltimore, until we reach Washington, D.C., at approximately 10:30 AM.
Once we officially begin the tour to Washington from New York City, we will pass by the Pentagon, the headquarters of the U.S. Department of Defense, where approximately 23,000 military and civilian employees work. Next, we will pass by the Thomas Jefferson Memorial before reaching Arlington National Cemetery, where we will step off the bus to learn about its history and visit the graves of the Kennedy brothers.
Next, we will head to the Iwo Jima Memorial, a magnificent sculpture inspired by Joe Rosenthal’s famous photograph Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima. This monument honors the men of the U.S. Marine Corps who sacrificed their lives in combat in defense of their country since 1775. The statue represents the Marines and the sailor who raised the second flag atop Mount Suribachi.
Leaving the state of Virginia, we will cross the Potomac River and pass through Georgetown. This charming neighborhood, known for its cobblestone streets and historic architecture, invites us to immerse ourselves in a vibrant atmosphere filled with culture and local life.
During our tour, we will make a stop to visit several monuments, accompanied by our guide. Below are the monuments we will visit:
Finally, we will visit the spectacular National Mall, an expansive green park home to the most iconic monuments in U.S. history. During this part of the trip to Washington from New York, you will see the Lincoln Memorial, where many historic speeches have taken place, including Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech.
Additionally, we will see the Washington Monument (The Obelisk), dedicated to the first President of the United States, George Washington, who played a crucial role in the nation's history. This monument is well-known for appearing in various films, as it is a towering white obelisk about 170 meters tall, built from marble, granite, and stone.
At the far end of the National Mall, we will visit the U.S. Capitol. Then, we will head north to the White House, where you will learn about the story of Conchita, a Spanish woman who stood in front of the White House for more than three decades.
Continuing our excursion to Washington from New York, we will take the city's main avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue—the route used by the incoming president during the inauguration parade. Along the way, we will also pass buildings such as the FBI headquarters, the Department of Justice, the Treasury Department, and the National Archives.
We will have 1 hour and 30 minutes of free time at the end of our Washington excursion. You can have lunch, buy souvenirs, visit one of the Smithsonian Museums—such as the Air and Space Museum or the National Museum of the American Indian—or, if you prefer, take a walk through the National Mall.
At approximately 4:30 PM, we will begin our journey back to New York. If weather conditions allow, we will make a stop before entering the Big Apple to admire and photograph the illuminated Manhattan skyline, just as seen in famous postcards.
